May

Here we are doing math centres with Mme Page. She is a math expert! We are learning about division, shapes, area and perimeter.

We are using blocks to do a problem where we had to make rectangles that had the same area and perimeter.

Here we are learning which letters and numbers are symmetrical using the Mira.

We had to figure out a puzzle using the area and perimeter of different shapes.

We are studying shapes so we did some artwork and put them up on the bulletin board.

Here we talked about problems and found strategies that Superflex or Rock Brain would use.

This is our Earth Day assembly where we presented a song and a poem in the gym.

On May the 3rd some teachers were being silly for 'May the Fourth'!

Here we are painting our pots.

For Cinco de Mayo we made guacamole and ate tortilla chips with salsa and mango juice. We also listened to music.

Here we are researching foods and animals from Mexico.

We are sorting shapes by the number of sides they have,

We looked at helicopter seeds and we have been watering and observing our plants.

In all these pictures we were using clay to make art. We all wrote about our favourite season in French and had to make a scene for that season.

Here we are doing ELA centres. We are playing a matching game, writing in our journals, making words and making a heart for Treaty Day.

Here are the grade 3 students swimming. We are learning how to swim! We are getting better every week.

This is the grade 4's at track and field. One of the many activities is hurdles. Some other activities we did are dodge ball with the grade 5's, 50 meter race, 100 meter race, 200 meter race, disc throw, ball throw and long jump in the sand.  Right before lunch we had the relay race and Assiniboine won them all!! It was hot and sunny and we had lots of fun!

Even though we are having our Treaty Day in May, the pictures will be part of the June blog post!
