June

This is the cactus art we made with a sunset in the background.

We watched Charlotte's Web and it is a really good movie. We compared the book to the movie.

Here we are planting new seeds!

On Treaty Day we planted hearts in the ground in memory of the people who went to residential schools. We also had bannock!

Here we are singing the Buffalo song, dancing and playing the drum.

We were playing games outside and we got to play a game like British Bulldog. There was a planetarium in the gym where we got to see all the stars at night and heard what people thought they looked like.

We were smudging and we were smelling plants that had beautiful scents.

Here is our seasons artwork that we also presented to the class. For super orateurs, some kids brought in food to share and this is Mexican bread. We also researched and made a plant using modelling clay.

Here we are at the Legislative Building. We did a scavenger hunt outside and then we went inside for a tour.

Here we are at Assiniboine Park in the zoo. We got to touch stingrays.

Here are the polar bears and the seals and we saw that the polar bears were play fighting.

Here we are playing at the Polar Bear Playground and the Nature Playground. We had lots of fun!

Here we are looking at worms and soil.

We are digging in the forest to find worms.

Here we are making our Charlotte's Web project. We used iMovie to make a book trailer.

Here are some math centres. We are learning to tell time.

The colour run was a big success!

Mme Mary came to talk to us about composting in the library. When we were done, she let us look at red wriggler worms.

We are at the St. James Public Library. We got really good books!

Here we are tearing up the tissue for our art project.

We presented the iMovie book trailers to each other.

This is where a student from the University of Winnipeg came and gave us science challenges. One of them was building a bridge with two wooden blocks and one piece of paper to see how many pennies it could hold. Another activity was making a hole with a piece of paper and seeing how many feet you could fit in it.

June was a great month! Today was bump-up day so ask me who my teacher is for next year. On Tuesday Constable Cross will be coming to do her last presentation this year about personal safety. Thursday is our class party and the last day of school!
