January 2021

We did some owl art based on Norval Morrisseau's style.

We made posters to let people know that you need to cut the elastics on disposable masks otherwise they will get stuck on animals.

Here we are learning about nature-made and human-made structures.

We read a book about Inukshuks and did an art project with chalk pastels.

From the science crate, we were making tipis and testing which material would be the best between leather, plastic and cloth. Leather won!

We talked about different materials like bark and leather. The science crate is from the University of Manitoba.

We were studying igloos. This is the doorway arch.

We were testing what would be the best and strongest roof. We used weights to see how much the roof could hold.

We were designing our own totem poles after reading a book about them from the science crate.

We made boats with tin foil and tested how strong they were using marbles.

We were using Tangrams to make different animals and shapes.

We were practicing multiplication on the smartboard during math groups.

We did I love to read and we had lots of guest readers on Teams! Here is Mme Laura, Mme Melo and M. Magian. We also saw M. Tyrell, Wab Kinew, Mme Perry and Janine Stephens.

Also for I love to read we wrote about our favourite books.

We did sketches of wolves. We are reading many fractured fairy tales and some of them are about the Big Bad Wolf. We are practicing retelling the stories.

We did sketches of the Eiffel Tower.

We were doing a French play about the three little pigs. We made props and posters and we presented it to our class.

We are also starting to learn about Ancient Egypt!
