We finished our Marvelous Me books and shared them with a partner. 

We are sharing ideas. Before we started reading Charlotte's Web, we compared life in the city and on the farm. 

We wrote a paragraph in a certain mood, then we read it to a partner and they had to guess the mood of the writing. We used vocabulary to give hints. 

We were doing a math problem. The problem was that we went to the zoo and we saw 42 feet. What animals did we see? Find many possibilities!

We did a math centre, 2D to 3D with blocks! We used the different views of the pictures to build with the coloured blocks. 

We made division books using stickers. 

We estimated, counted and made patterns with objects. 

We learned about Egyptian numbers. 

We wrote about what animals read before bed for our class book!

We made the Earth for a new book we are working on, La petite charte de la terre. 

We wrote about our stuffed animals. 

We planted marigold seeds. 

We did our plant centers. 

We built flowers. 

We stamped parts of the plant. 

We read books about plants. 

We looked at roots. 

We looked at seeds. 

We made canola oil. 

We sorted plant life cycles with magnets. 

We painted masks for a charity fundraiser!

They were beautiful and creative!

We used pastels to colour a rainbow and then painted the sky. 

We added some white pastel for the rain. We added animals and umbrellas. 

We talked about the 100 year mosaic with Mr. Dimitry.

We watched the grade 4 and 5's spring concert!

 

February

 We did centers a couple times this month. Here are some centers. 

We use the iPads to do Reflex Math. 

We played Bananagrams. The big word was Valentine. 

We made animal posters using our books. 

We used Book Creator to write books about being a good friend. 

We read books on EPIC, Je lis and RAZ-Kids. 

We wrote in our journals about swimming, Festival du Voyageur day and our concert. 

Mme reads with us and gives us new books. 

Sometimes we read with a partner. 

A dad read his book called A Boy and His Phone: that got him into trouble.

We got a collection of Elise Gravel books for our classroom library. 

We are reading The Stinky Cheese Man!

We wrote about our favourite books. 

We passed out Valentine cards. 

We wrote about our friends in French on pink shirt day. These are the groups.

On 'dress as your favourite book character day', Mme brought us Bannock to try as a snack. 

We did problem solving in groups for math. 

We tested the boats that we made in science. 

We also tested leather, plastic and canvas to see if water would absorb. 

We were looking at all the artwork in the school and writing about what we liked. 

We made little voyageurs in a boat using a picture of our faces. 

We went down the slide at swimming lessons!

We brought our stuffed animals to the gym to read with our book buddies!
