May

Here we are at the public library!

The librarian told us about the summer reading program. We also listened to a story!

It's time to read!

Here we are working on our word sorts!

This is our root vegetable artwork. We cut out pieces of a magazine instead of colouring it in.

These are our farms from Charlotte's Web!

We played outside when it was nice!

We celebrated Cinco de Mayo with some taquitos, tortilla chips, salsa, guacamole and mango juice!

Happy Cinco de Mayo! Some of us liked the guacamole and some did not.

Here we are with our plants. We studied them for the month of May. Some grew very big.

We have also been practicing our math skills and reading lots of French books. We read a French book on the Smartboard every morning.

We also got a new student in our class!

April - May

Some of our April pictures...

Here we drew eyes with Mr. Elliot.

He was our TIA artist. We also drew the Pink Panther upside down, it was so much fun! We also drew Kirby for 1 minute, 3 minutes and 5 minutes. We drew Pikachu for 2 minutes and 4 minutes. Finally we drew pirates!

This is when we did shape art. We made all the shapes over top of each other.

Here are our pirates, we loved making them and Mr. E also helped us with them. We also wrote about them.

Here we are planting our seeds for science!

We hope they grow!

February & March

Here are some pictures and quotes from the students:

We are making structures out of blue paper in these pictures.

We had to make boats out of tin foil and test how many marbles it could hold.

Here we are with our book buddies and we had heart candy. We had to guess how many of each color there were. Later we got to eat them. We split them equally!

Our choir went to the festival and earned a silver medal!

Deanne read a book that was French and another one that was English!

Here we are a the symphony and they played lots of songs like the Olympic Fanfare and Frenergy! We didn't get to play music but it was really nice and it was super loud in the tenth row.

This is when we made our hieroglyphics of our names. It was really fun because we got to see what they would look like.

Minute to win it activities on the last day before spring break!!!

Junk in the trunk - try to shake all the marbles out!

Chopping Block - pick up blocks with chop sticks!

Diving Dice - balance as many dice on a popsicle stick as you can!

Balloon Bounce - keep all five balloons up in the air and on the carpet!

Silly Straws - use a straw to pick up and transport bingo chips!

Have a fabulous spring break!!
:)

Festival du voyageur

This is us doing some voyageur activities for the Festival du voyageur! We did lots of fun activities with different people that we got to meet. One of our favourite centres was the one in the gym because you got to play tug-of-war and push people around on a mat on wheels and have pillow fights on a beam. We also launched bean bags that we were pretending were pancakes. We got to arm wrestle different people.
When we were sledding we were pulled by a grade 4 or 5 student. We got to eat bannock and hot chocolate while listening to a voyageur story.
