January 2020

We were doing English centres. Some were making snow globes and some were reading on RAZ-Kids. We also got new words to study, played Bananagrams and wrote about what makes our family special.

This is our bulletin board. It tells the story about how we got stuck in a snow globe. There is a picture in the snow globe.

For a few weeks we have been working on projects about animals. We presented these projects on Keynote, with clay animals and with posters.

We were exploring different furs from animals. A student brought them in for us to see. The fur was really soft!

We were learning about forces and seeing if we can hold things for 30 seconds without dropping them. We learned about the force of gravity.

We were testing to see if different objects were magnetic. Metal sticks to the magnet. We also tried magnetizing paperclips.

We were looking at pictures and trying to find what is different and what they have in common. The pictures were all of Australia and we also learned about the flag and the language. Even though they speak English, they use different words for things.

We are reading about a subject for our French speeches. We had to write 6 paragraphs so we had to become experts on our subjects first!

We used our notes to write our own speeches. It was fun! Next we will practice so that we can present it in front of our class.

In math we are learning multiplication! We use strategies to help us.

We were making graphs. Everyone used their own survey to collect data and create a bar graph.

Constable Cross came to talk to us about online safety. Ask me what I learned.

Grade 4 students were so lucky to go see Frozen Junior!

Our Indigenous Educator, Cindy Swampy came to visit our class a couple times this week and talk about our differences. She read us a really good book called, Same, Same but Different!

Today we started our TIA sessions with some dancing from the 90's! We will continue these lessons next week. Ask me what my favourite 90's dance move is.
